I really love how the Veronica Mars books pick up where the movie left off. The voice is just so on point I feel I’m another episode. Can’t wait for the next one!

Morrissey lay deadly still in her bed, waiting for the monster to enter her room the same way she did every night. It was her first night of training, and if she didn’t make it to the basement by the witching hour, she’d be eliminated from the running to become an apprentice. She wanted more than anything to be a Baker Witch, despite the misgivings of her family, and she hoped she would make it through the next few minutes unharmed…just this once. Her uniform was hidden beneath a multicolored robe, and she had the sheets pulled up all the way to her chin. It was curious that layers of fabric had the ability to make her feel safer, even knowing what she did.
